The article entitled “Relationships Between Poverty-Related Stress, Coping Humor, and Mental Health: Mediating Role of Hopelessness,” derived from the master’s thesis of Öyküm Giritli, a graduate of our Guidance and Psychological Counseling Master’s Program, and prepared under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Kürşad Demirutku, a faculty member of our Department, was published in the international journal Current Psychology.
The study examined the relationships between poverty-related stress, coping humor, and mental health, with particular emphasis on the mediating role of hopelessness in these associations. The research contributes to a better understanding of the effects of stress related to economic hardship on psychological well-being and provides insight into individuals’ coping processes.
